############################################################ ------------------------------------------------------------ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR RANKING POWER v4.0 ------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Create a new directory on your site's base directory and name it something related to the theme of your site (example: "widgets"). CHMOD this directory to 777. 2. Upload all content from the rankingpowerv4.zip into that directory in ASCII mode (it is set by default on most FTP programs). 3. Using your FTP program, set these permissions (chmod): go.php - 755 ppc.php - 755 rblog.php - 755 rpower.php - 755 blog.php - 755 4. Point your web browser to the rpower.php file. If you did everything right so far you'll be asked to enter a password. Enter the password "firstlogin". 5. To access Rankingb Blog, simply click the link at the top of rpower.php once you login. 6. There's a link on every RP4 screen pointing to Ranking Blog's admin area. The password for RB's admin is the same used in RP (that is, if they change their RP pass, RB will also use this new pass). 7. The way to add RB blogs into RP's pages is this: You have to put the following code on the keyword pages template wherever you want the blogs to appear: <%rankingblog:ID%> Where "ID" is the ID of the blog you want to add (RB's main admin screen shows the ID next to each feed). So for example, if you want to add blog #2 into your pages, you'd just put this into the keyword pages template: <%rankingblog:2%> Here's a site that will help you provide feeds when getting started with Ranking Blog: -http://www.syndic8.com 8. All done! You should now change your admin password by clicking on the link at the bottom of that page. 9. Start creating traffic-attracting sales-pulling money- making pages and when you start seeing those top 10 rankings you can send me a nice thank you letter :-) ---------------------------------- Changes from RankingPower v3.0 ---------------------------------- These are the new additions to RP4: - The choice of keyword based folders OR keyword based files. - Keyword based news feeds in Ranking Blog. Now, if you have a newsfeed such as Yahoo News, you can add a keyword variable that will allow different blog results on each RP4 page. Here's an example of the Yahoo feed: http://news.search.yahoo.com/usns/ynsearch/categories/news_story_search_rss/index.html?p=<%keyword%> - There were several performance enhancements made as well. ---------------------------------- UPGRADING FROM RankingPower v3.0 ---------------------------------- Unlike our previous versions, you cannot upgrade current sites with Ranking Power 4. You will need to recreate them. ---------------------------------- If you need any assistance, please post a message on the support forum at: http://www.undergroundseotactics.com Best regards, Michael Wolf michael@rankingpower.com http://www.rankingpower.com/
